It isn't perfect by a long shot but it does everything you need it to do and then some and it does it pretty well. It has "edit", "preview" and "reference" screens for the actual writing of the code. These are tabbed at the top of the work space. You type in your code in the edit screen and click on the "preview" tab to view what you have just done. No saving and switching to the browser to check your progress.
You can have multiple pages open at the same time and those are tabbed a the bottom of the work space.
There is a side frame, resizable, that contains several tabs, two of which I use frequently. The computer tab allows you to view the computer drives and access the files of each drive. This is especially good for locating and inserting images. If you position your cursor in the place you want to insert the image in your "edit" screen, move your mouse pointer over the image you want to insert in the computer tab frame and right click on it the menu gives you the option to insert the image as a link. What this does is insert the entire image tag with relative path information, size information and an "alt" tag that you can fill in with whatever information you need. It saves so much time from typing in tag information, looking up the image in a different application to check the size, etc. I love this option.
The other tab in this section that I use frequently is a code storage tab. If there are certain codes you use frequently such as font formating, meta tags, things like that you can highlight the code, right click and store it in this section. Then when you need it you simply position your cursor where you want the code to be in the "edit" screen, double click the code in the storage frame and it inserts in the document. No more typing and re-typing or copying from one document to another. Excellent feature.
The last feature I really wanted to tout here is the template option. If you have a multi-page website, you can create a basic template with all of the information that applies to all pages and save it. Then when you need to add a page, simply find "New from Template" on the top "New" menu and you are ready to create rather than recreate. Very convenient.
There are several other built-in automatic features that I don't use as much. At the top of the screen are several tabs of features such as "Fonts", "Lists", "Tables", "Frames", etc. that will help you create a page with interest. And in the "edit" frame the right click feature works similarly to the way it works in Microsoft Word so it isn't really an alien environment for most of us.
There are some things about it I have some trouble with. For example I haven't found any of the Java scripts from their Java library that work. I usually have to go to an outside source to find good scripts. And the resize feature on the side frame doesn't always work. And when you are changing between open documents in the "edit" screen the word wrap function resets and you have to turn it off and turn it on again. But overall, these inconveniences are small in comparison to the overall convenience of the application.
If you do a lot of web site creation, I highly recommend this application. And I understand that they are coming out with an upgrade sometime soon so we can hope that some of the bugs will be worked out.
